DODD Chosen as a Finalist by Computerworld
The Department of Developmental Disabilities IT Department was selected from over 1,000 submissions as one of the finalists and laureates for the Computerworld Honors Award in the Human Services category. Specifically, the Infrastructure team was recognized for the virtualization of DODD servers, network, storage and the management of them. The completion of this project has given DODD the ability to adapt with the business by being able to add or remove resources at a moment’s notice. It also allows for almost instant recovery during a disaster, virtual test environments and the ability to monitor and manage all servers within the DODD footprint throughout the state by just a few technicians.
The Computerworld Honors Program recognizes those organizations which create and use information technology to promote and advance the public welfare, benefit society and change the world for the better. The award will be presented at the Andrew Mellon auditorium in Washington, D.C. on June 20, 2011.
