Pre admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR)

The federal intent of PASRR is to prevent inappropriate and/or long term nursing facility placement of individuals with serious mental illness and/or mental retardation and developmental disabilities.

The Department of Developmental Disabilities shall determine whether a nursing facility is the most appropriate setting for an individual based on current need for services and whether or not Specialized Services shall be provided.
